Lac Blue

A walk to one of the nicest lakes from the valley, combined with a walk through the small villages of Satarma and Pramousse.

Route

We start in the center of Arolla, alternatively this can be started from La Gouille. From the center we go in the direction of Hotel Du Glacier and at the sign pole in the direction of Cabane des Aiguilles Rouge along a trail that climbs up the hill. A bit further, along a building where the road turns left, we go straight ahead into the forest. At the next junction Lac Blue is indicated as "Chemin Difficile" or litteraly translated as "difficult trail", but the trail is easy but it's only indicated in that way because Lac Blue is a popular place for parents and small kids which need to be more carefull. This 'dificult' trail brings you right to the Lac Blue, a very nice area to relax. From the Lac Blue, we descent towards La Gouille, where you probably meet many tourists that go up to the lake. When arriving in the center of La Gouille, take the first road to the right which brings you on the main road that you follow for about 100m before you turn left, a trail that goes over a bridge and then immediatly right along a grassy trail that turns to follow the Borgne d'Arolla upstream. Before the next brigde over the Borgne, go left along the riverside in the direction of Pramousse. From Pramousse we head to the main road and take the path on the other side in the direction of La Lé/Arolla.A nice calm trail that brings you back to Arolla.
