This tour takes you from the numerous mills around Müllrose to the baroque wonder of Brandenburg in Neuzelle. The tour starts in Müllrose, where the mills suggest less that these are due to the monks. Whereas the magnificent and splendid monastery with its churches and grounds in Neuzelle clearly shows where the monks lived and also live today - again.

This section of the Monks' Tour begins in the state-recognized resort town of Müllrose, which has managed to retain the historic charm of a former agrarian town. In addition to the impressive baroque Protestant parish church, the large Müllrose Lake with its 130 hectares also contributes to Müllrose's townscape.
Of the various mills in the Schlaubetal, whose numerous appearances can be traced back to the monks, only the Müllros mill is still in operation. The tour leads past the Ragower Mühle, where various original mill techniques can be seen in the mill museum.
Picturesquely the further course leads through the idyllic Schlaubetal. In this special flora and fauna more than 1,000 different plants, 700 butterfly and 200 bird species can be found. The mills, forestry and inns, churches and local history rooms, which invite you to take a break, give the Schlaubetal its traditional charm.
The day tour ends in Neuzelle. The whole ensemble is appreciatively called the "baroque wonder of Brandenburg". The brothers of the Cistercian Order, who built the monastery in Neuzelle in the Middle Ages, had a feeling for the special character of the place. Today, Neuzelle Monastery is one of the few completely preserved monastery complexes in Europe. A new museum was even built for the unique Neuzelle Passion depictions, which you should not miss - the "Heavenly Theater".
Parts of the historic garden monument have been largely restored in recent years by the Neuzelle Monastery Foundation according to plans from 1758 and impress with symmetries, visual axes as well as a terrace system that allows a wide view over the Baroque gardens and the Oder lowlands. The centerpiece of the gardens is the Orangery, where orange trees and other southern plants from the monastery garden overwinter from October to May and which is used in the summer months as a café, for events and for wedding ceremonies. Visitors can be enchanted by the charm of the centuries-old monastery complex and experience a unique monastic garden culture. The view over the baroque garden and the Oder lowlands from the monastery is one of the most beautiful views in the state of Brandenburg.
If you want to resume your tour after this eventful day, you can continue the monk tour via Coschen, in the direction of Eisenhüttenstadt to Bieskow-Finkenheerd, back to Müllrose after a restful night.
