Wine importer Krimpenfort Wijnen is located in Fort Waver-Amstel. There are regular open days. There is then the opportunity to participate in the wine tasting. In the fort, rooms are also rented for parties, parties and wine tastings.

Fort Waver-Amstel is located in a beautiful nature reserve. The interior of the fort is neglected, but still unique because it is almost complete. Among other things, laundry rooms, water tank, kitchen with water pump and electricity cupboards are still present.

History
Fort Waver-Amstel served to defend the area of the Groot Mijdrecht water board located in front of the fort, the dry strip up to Fort in the Botshol and the eastern inundation lock. This fort, completed in 1911, is strategically located where Amstel and Oude Wavre meet. To the left of the fort moat was an inlet for inundation water. The small rectangular terrain, lined with trees, can still be seen against the dike. Where the current vegetation deviates, there was the so-called reception bed, a stone-reinforced bottom to prevent abrasion by the incoming water.
