Legendary Adventure - Walk 1 - Cacela Velha - Tavira

Preamble:

Description:
This walk is a flat walk.
We depart from Cacela Velha, an old village where the church and fortress lie by the water overlooking the vast peninsula (Peninsula de Cacela) that protects the coast for many kilometers. Before we leave, take a moment to visit the cemetery. It's worth it!
We walk along the beach to Fabria and then head inland. Along the golf course Quinta de Cima & da Ria, between the orange plantations along quiet roads towards Cabanas.
Before going for lunch or a drink, one can take the ferry to the island Ilha de Cabanas with its beautiful sandy beaches.
Here, at low tide, you can still see the fishermen harvesting their Venus clams by hand or with a net.
Cabanas offers delightful restaurants where one can enjoy a lovely lunch for little money.
On our way to Tavira, we pass several salt pans.
