Heist@sea - Zwin - Cadzand - Oostburg - Sluis - Heist@sea

At the new "Torens van Heist@sea" (2024), which you can see from afar, lies the Heldenplein. This bike ride starts here, allowing you to enjoy both the sea and the polder landscape. On the dike path (red bricks), we ride towards Zoute and Zwin. Taking a moment to stop at the Haas with a view of this beautiful nature reserve is definitely worthwhile. Once past the educational center of Zwin, we circle the Zwin and Kievittepolder and flirt with the border with the Netherlands in Cadzand bad. Lock keeper Guido Metsers welcomes us. Here, too, more and more high-rise buildings are emerging from the dunes. We cross through Cadzand and reach Zuidzande via the Erasmus Forest. Through Oostburg, with its pleasant center full of numerous terraces and shops, we head towards Sluis. On this route, the Zeeland town is rounded to the south. Nothing stops you from taking a moment to pause here, stroll through the streets, and enjoy local food and drinks on a terrace. Heading towards Heist, we take advantage of the bike-friendly underpass of the N49 and thus pass by Westkapelle.

After the tunnel at the Meer van Heist and crossing the Elizabetlaan, we return to the Heldenplein after approximately 50 km.
