Leukerbad - Flüealp Mountainbike in Leukerbad

Discover the eastern side valley of Leukerbad, where the stream Dala has its source. The first section of the tour leads through the forest. After having passed the ditch you cross the mountain pastures bevore arriving at Majingalp and Flüelap. 
At the first paved road, turn through Haus Lärchenwald and head towards the Weidstübli restaurant. Soon the terrain changes to gravel for a good 500 metres, and is followed by a climb through bright woodland that leads on to the Folljeret mountain pastures, and finally the Majingalp pastures. If you wish, you can make a stop at the mountain restaurant or climb another 2km to Flüealp, where the cheese and bread platters are an absolute must. The signposted descent is via the same route back to Leukerbad.
Continue a few minutes from Flüealp to Flüekapelle. From there, you can descend to Leukerbad on the other side of the valley on a single trail (see map).
Arrive in Leuk by train (SBB). Afterwards, take the bus connection (LLB) from Leuk train station going directly to Leukerbad, Albinen, Inden or Varen.
From Basel/Zurich: Motorway A1 until Bern, A6 until Spiez, towards Kandersteg; Car transport Kandersteg-Goppenstein; towards Gampel; Leuk-Leukerbad. From Geneva: Motorway A1 until Lausanne; towards Sion/Sierre; Leuk-Leukerbad. From Milan: Motorway A8/A26 towards Simplon; car transport Iselle-Brig; towards Leuk-Leukerbad.

We recommend: bike in excellent working order, helmet, gloves and bell, clothing suitable for the weather (always carry a waterproof), food and drink.
