Hilders Station

The former Hilders train station is located in Hilders in the Fulda district of Hesse. It was once a junction of three lines to Götzenhof, Vacha, and Wüstensachsen.

On December 12, 1890, the section from Bieberstein to Hilders of the railway line known as the "Rhönbahn" connecting Götzenhof and Hilders was officially opened. Half a year later, on June 1, 1891, the extension of the line northward along the valley of the Ulster to Tann was also opened for traffic. In 1909, the gap was closed with the Ulstertalbahn between Geisa and Tann. This created a continuous connection to the Werratal, which had developed into a hub of the potash industry.
