At the emerging Cottbus Ostsee, the Merzdorf observation tower invites you to a panoramic view. 173 steps need to be climbed for this. Just about 400 meters away, the little family members will have fun. The wooden boat "Mia" is a welcome change for playing and romping around. The impressive entrance structure to the Cottbus Ostsee attracts visitors from near and far and is already considered a meeting point for Ostsee fans today. You can reach the fishing and fortress town of Peitz passing by the Mauster Kiessee and along the Peitzer Teiche. Be sure to plan a visit to the Peitz fortress tower before heading back to Cottbus. Also, the fishing and hut museum right by the ponds is worth a visit. The return journey leads directly through the pond area and along the Hammergraben to the Spree. The upcoming section of the Spreeradweg from Saspow to the Spreewehrmühle offers relaxation for the eyes. The shady spots invite you to another stop. There is also a playground and extensive greenery for the little ones. After about 3 km, you will reach the starting point of the round tour in the old town of Cottbus.
