Highlight of the tour are the Hahnenkleeklippen in the Harz National Park. These viewpoint rocks 200 m above the impressive Odertal offer a magnificent view into the valley as well as towards the opposite Rehberg and the Rehberger Graben running along the slope. Also, the mountain meadows of Sankt Andreasberg can be seen from here.
For a stopover, the forest restaurant Rinderstall is a good option to recharge for the ascent on the way back to Braunlage. The tour leads you through the picturesque Untere Drecktal passing by the Silberteich back to the starting point of the hike.
