By walking along this trail #11, dedicated to the memory of the Spahis, discover a place filled with history and bravery in a remarkable environment. The story of this surreal battle of May 15, 1940 is told throughout the path. At the starting sign, head towards the village cemetery by going up "Rue du Tilleul". The first interpretation panel is located facing the cemetery. At the bottom of the descent, after the pond, turn left to enter the forest. Cross a small wooden bridge and continue along the path. An ascent will lead you to the second interpretation panel located at the viewpoint. Exit the woods and turn to descend towards La Horgne. Along the way, another interpretation panel is waiting for you. In the village, you will discover a new interpretation panel. Turn right and head towards the Spahis memorial in the heart of the village. Continue straight to access the last panel, then go back up to return to your starting viewpoint.

On May 15, 1940, the village of La Horgne is the center of the famous military achievement of the French Spahis, Algerians, and Moroccans.
The 3rd Brigade of Spahis faces a reinforced motorized infantry battalion with tanks, belonging to the 1st German Panzer Division, one of General Guderian's best units.
