Mirabelle orchard circuit

The village of Gugney-aux-Aulx is notable for having many plots of traditional orchards but also for welcoming a professional arboricultural activity centered around the mirabelle plum. As a result, there are two distinct forms of plots that the thematic markers will detail as you walk along.
Starting point: Rue de l’église, Gugney aux Aulx

Its gayoir, a small body of water intended for the washing and care of horses, complements its rich and varied communal heritage.
Take the street uphill. At the church, turn right onto the chemin de la sonrière. Continue until the intersection and take a left. Then continue to the oratory.
Descend to the left towards the village. Back in Gugney-aux-Aulx, turn right and pass in front of the washhouse and the gayoir. At the square, take another right to join the high street. Carefully walk down the street for about fifty meters towards the exit of the village, then take the path that goes uphill on the left.
Go straight through the orchards for over a kilometer before turning left into the woods at the fork in the path. Follow the markers closely during the crossing of the forest to find the path and go back up to the left. When you reach the former site of the remarkable beech tree, turn left then right to descend back into the village via a small road.
Cross the high street and take the path behind the houses to join Rue Berton and the cross of Breuil. Continue along the street for 250 meters to return to the starting point.
