Baron von Stein School Gymnasium Rösrath

The Freiherr-vom-Stein-Schule Gymnasium Rösrath is the high school of the city of Rösrath. It is also referred to as Gymnasium Rösrath. The school building is located in the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Schulzentrum Rösrath together with a secondary school and a real school on a hill west of the city center.

On April 1, 1964, the council of the municipality of Rösrath decided to establish a high school. About a year later, on April 22, 1965, classes began in provisional buildings on Sandweg. A new building for the high school was constructed from 1965 to 1968 above Bensberger Straße. The school was named after Freiherr vom Stein in 1965. It was founded as a language-oriented high school and has had a bilingual German-French program since 1991. Since 2021, Heiner Plückebaum has been the principal of the high school.
