Directions: The circular tour starts at Bernau train station. The cycle path Berlin-Usedom leads through the historic city center along the city wall, which still almost completely surrounds the city center, in a northern direction towards Ladeburg. Here, it is worth taking a break to discover the beautiful little town. Information boards in front of historical buildings provide information about the history. The tour continues to Lobetal. The picturesque Mechesee with its natural bathing spots is definitely worth a visit. The tour continues through Waldfrieden, where the UNESCO World Heritage Bauhaus memorial Bundesschule is located, to Schönow. It is recommended to leave the bikes and explore the circular hiking trail in Schönower Heide. It offers atmospheric impressions in every season, from the song of the skylark in spring to the heather bloom in late summer. There are good chances to observe fallow deer, red deer, and mouflon. The path continues through Schönow on the Pankeweg back towards Bernau. If you still have the energy, make a detour to Birkenhöhe. Here, you will be rewarded with plenty of nature. In autumn, the pine forests invite you to search for mushrooms. Just a stone's throw away is Börnicke. Historical buildings give the small town an irresistible charm. After a last break, it's back to Bernau.
