one of the most beautiful bike routes according to the ANWB! From Alphen aan de Rijn, you first follow the Oude Rijn through a landscape of grass-green polders and vast lakes. At Katwijk, the sweet water makes way for the salty North Sea. Return via Wassenaar to Leiden, avoiding the city center as much as possible. There is 1 ferry on the route (over the Zijl at Merenwijk). Taking a detour over the bridge is also an option, by the way! A nice route of 68km. The start and endpoint is at the new Maximabrug in Alphen aan de Rijn.
