Penya Migjorn - PR-CV 212 shortened

This is a shortened version of the PR-CV 212, starting from an informal parking location on the CV-810 from Xixona to Tibi. The hike is relatively short but with a fair amount of elevation gain. It passes through a landscape of almond trees and pines and offers beautiful views of the Cabeçó d’Or and Maigmo massifs. Tibi, Castalla, Alcoi, Torremanzanas, and, of course, the Alicante metropolitan area is also visible. It is highly recommended to hike the route as represented here. The reason for this is a short section of about three hundred meters just before the summit (from km 3.30 to km 3.60). Here, the route climbs over a rocky outcrop with a yawning, steep abyss. People with a fear of heights and lack of sure-footedness will feel more comfortable going uphill on this section than going downhill. Those who prefer not to do this section at all can choose to do the return route from the summit up and down. Perfectly doable on a longer, and therefore somewhat less steep, path. Except for the airy section, the paths are in good condition, and the route is easy to follow with the yellow and white markers.
