The oldest part of the town hall was built to replace the former town hall and belfry tower that had stood at the centre of Grote Markt square since the 14th century. It was built between 1769 and 1771 in classicist style and is decorated with gracious rococo elements. During the visit you discover the magnificent interior and numerous beautiful works of art. On the ground floor you can see the portrait gallery with portraits of all mayors of Roeselare who have represented the city since 1830.
