Through the existing node network, you cycle through the green lung of Bruges from the Smedenpoort to the Katelijnepoort. Then you follow the Bruges-Ghent canal that you have continuously by your side, visiting various picturesque villages along the way.
Only in Aalter does the canal briefly disappear from view to re-emerge in Bellem and lead you to the Brugse Poort in Ghent. In Ghent, you bike through the center via the coupure and are in the vicinity of the cathedral and belfry, from where you follow the towpath along the Scheldt to Melle starting from Gentbrugge.
