EuroVelo 5 in Wallonia: Via Romea Francigena

The EuroVelo 5 route, also known as the 'Via Romea Francigena', connects London with Brindisi. The route is over 3000 km long and crosses 7 countries. EuroVelo 5 takes you on an adventure. You pass numerous natural gems as well as architectural and cultural heritage. And of course, you also get acquainted with the typical Belgian brewery heritage. Starting from Roubaix in France, you embark on a journey through the rich history of inland navigation in the region. You follow the course of the river and meander through Flanders and Wallonia. After a relaxing ride through the Pays des Collines, you set course for Brussels and Walloon Brabant. The typical grain fields of Haspengouw slowly but steadily lead you to the Namur region and the capital of Wallonia. Along the banks of the Meuse, you cycle to Dinant. Then, it’s off towards Condroz and Famenne. After leaving Marche-en-Famenne, the RAVeL leads you to the valley of the Ourthe. You pass numerous charming villages and enjoy the panoramas that make the Ardennes so unique. The route ends at the border with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
