Cycle route in loop form with the racing bike done from Heist to the hills around Leuven and the Hageland.
Departing from Heist op den Berg, through Keerbergen and Boortmeerbeek, along the Mechelen-Leuven canal, over Buken to Veltem-Beisem, Winksele, Heverlee, Kessel-Lo, Holsbeek, Kortrijk-Dutsel, Gelrode, Aarschot, Begijnendijk, Booischot and back to Heist op den Berg. In the southern loop around Leuven there is enough relief to exercise the legs!
The eight hills: the Bovenberg in Veltem-Beisem, the IJzerenberg in Winksele and the Gasthuisberg, the Trolieberg in Kessel-Lo, the Kasteeldreef in Linden, the Meesberg and the Chartreuzenberg in Holsbeek, the Rot near Nieuwrode and the Liedeberg near Gelrode.
Quiet roads, most paved, a bit unpaved but easy to cycle. 90 km.
