This beautiful forest walk from Pailhe (Clavier) takes you through the beautiful village of Saint Fontaine and to "La Baleine", the site of the Maquis de Bagatelle , an important maquis resistance site during World War II.
The beautiful village of Saint Fontaine is also called "cint" , meaning a hundred fountains, in connection with the many springs that feed the village's streams and ponds. You will see the castle with its park with ponds, the chapel , the ford and the many ponds along the Saint-Lambert.
Start at the church of Pailhe. Signposted with a red rectangle (walk 9), but be careful : in this route there is first a visit to the Lourdes Grotto , which is not part of the original walk.
