On to the wild daffodils!

Even though the daffodils have faded, there are still plenty of plants to discover during this walk, as a rare calamine flora has developed here. The yellow calamine violet (blooms from May) is probably the best-known species. Wild garlic and orchids also grow here. We recommend waterproof shoes. There are numerous turnstiles and gates during this walk, making it not possible to bring a pram or buggy.

Directions: Take Lütticher Straße out of the city. At the former border crossing Bildchen, turn left towards Hergenrath. Follow this road for a few kilometers until the church of Hergenrath appears in front of you. Drive past the church on the right, keep right and leave the roundabout at the first exit (Altenberger Straße). After about 750 meters you will find numerous free parking spaces on the left side of the street (opposite the cemetery).
