During this varied walk, you will walk along the Abeek for a while. In the 3 birdwatching huts, you get a view of the beautiful ponds and the unique birds that breed here. Who knows, you might spot a kingfisher, bittern, or golden oriole. Moreover, there are plenty of dragonflies. If you prefer open landscapes, then St. Maartensheide and Hemelrijk are the right places for you. Meadows, fields, bushes, hedgerows, tree rows, and ponds create a small-scale landscape that is particularly suitable for the gray shrike, yellowhammer, and wading birds such as the curlew and the godwit. Be sure to stop by the Luysmolen for a snack or a nice cup of coffee.
