“Wherever one goes along Flemish roads, one encounters Maria.” The journey begins at the church of Bergom, intertwining old devotion and quiet nature. You take your first steps in the Hoge Dreef until the path bends to the right towards the Lourdes cave of Bergom. It stands there somewhat forlorn, yet remains a place where people pause for a moment: walkers, cyclists, and anyone simply seeking a moment of rest.

Further on, the Varenbroek forest opens up like a green breath. Following quiet paths, you reach the Helschot forest and enter the Provincial Green Domain Hertberg. Names like Suikerberg and Rijselberg whisper what is to come: gentle slopes that give the landscape a playful relief.

Along the way, we looked around in wonder and counted, including the cave, nine Marian statues that accompanied us.
