AzureThe project in Situ of Public Art Property in Flanders wants to give enthusiasts a taste of the special experience of viewing works of art in their original environment. From 1 June to 30 September 2019, you can admire these works of art throughout Flanders in some 45 unique sites such as churches, castles, beguinages and town halls.
Limburg has 3 of the 45 locations in Flanders. In Maaseik , in the Sint-Catharinakerk, the silver altar cross of the Maaseikenaar was awarded. In Neeroeteren houses the Sint-Lambertuskerk, a treasure trove of late Gothic statues in wood and in Bocholt the Marian altarpiece in the Sint-Laurentiuskerk was selected.
