There are plenty of reasons to get acquainted with the imposing commandery Alden Biesen, a fascinating location of exceptional historical significance. Once the headquarters of the Teutonic Knights, nowadays a beautiful heritage site in the hands of the Flemish government. Historical monument, tourist attraction, setting for events and exhibitions, centre for European operation and congress centre... Alden Biesen is it all! The domain itself, the church, the English garden and the tourist reception centre can be visited free of charge. For a visit to the French garden you pay € 1. The moated castle with the restored apartment of the commander can only be visited with a guide or during a temporary exhibition.

Boardwalk

Via the English garden and the Lindedreef, people with prams and people in wheelchairs can explore the orchards up close via the 2-kilometre-long winding wooden boardwalk.
