The St. Luzi Chapel is situated at an altitude of about 960 meters, roughly a 45-minute walk from the farm, along a hiking path above the Schanfiggerstrasse in a rock grotto on the Mittenberg in the main town of Graubünden, Chur. It is under the patronage of St. Luzius of Chur and is owned by the St. Luzi Seminary of the Theological University of Chur.
Documentary evidence of a place of devotion at the site of today's chapel dates back to March 23, 1385. Visiting the site on that day was associated with an indulgence granted by Bishop Johann II of Chur. The chapel itself was built between 1645 and 1660, after the end of the Graubünden Wars.
