Arrival / Departure:Train: from Berlin with the S8 (Hohen Neuendorf) to Mühlenbeck-Mönchmühle (approx. 30 minutes).Car: from Berlin via the B96a to Mühlenbeck-Mönchmühle (approx. 45 minutes).Directions: The pond landscape was created in 1908 for the disposal of Berlin's wastewater. Later, there was intensive fish and duck farming until 1977. Subsequently, undisturbed for many years, free of any use, a remarkable habitat could develop. Through active nature conservation, there are now water surfaces, hedges, fruit trees, reeds, and wet meadows. These invite you to hike and search for treasures on the "Dandelion Path". Landscape designers here are Koniks and water buffalo, which keep the open areas accessible year-round through trampling and browsing. The circular route is recommended in every season. Information boards provide more information about the ponds and their inhabitants. The nature wardens of the Barnim Nature Park offer guided tours.
