Eifelsteig - Stage 3 from Monschau to Einruhr

After an extensive walk through Monschau and a few beautiful prints in your backpack, you then leave the Rur Valley. After a steep slope, you walk in a curve over the town and can enjoy the view over the rooftops of Monschau. On a narrow path, you then reach the wooded slope of the Perlenbach Valley with continuous ups and downs at the corresponding Perlenbach weir.

You will gladly hike along the eastern shore of the lake, where after a short ascent you reach the village of Höfen. The national park gate there is not only an information point but also a sign that you are approaching the Eifel National Park. Once you are fully immersed in the atmosphere of the national park, you walk through Höfen and can admire the meter-high hedges, which are a good example of the Monschau hedgerow landscape.

Through the picturesque and gradually descending Kluckbach Valley, you return to the Rur Valley, where rocky viewpoints like Perdsley and Uhusley promise fascinating views. The hike mainly takes place above the Rur, and with the Wolfsheuvel as the last viewpoint, you can already see the stage destination Einruhr at the Upper Lake.
