A09 Haro - Las Quintanillas

Ninth ride from Oekene (Roeselare) to Santiago de Compostela: from Haro to Las Quintanillas, 114 kilometers and 1093 elevation meters.

The first part of the ride is a false flat uphill. For this, you again follow rural roads in the valley of the ‘rio Tirión’ and reach the highest point (1193 Hm) after 62 km. You remain at this height for about 10 km and pass the ‘Pto El Matorro’ by the reservoir ‘E. de Uzquiza’. After that, it is very slightly downhill to Burgos. To do this, you follow the N120 for about 4 km. Be careful along this busy road!

Burgos is a city in the Spanish autonomous region Castile and León, a very large region. It is the capital of the province of the same name Burgos. The city is located at an altitude of 860 Hm by the ‘rio de Arlanzón’. Eight bridges connect the city. It is a regional trade and traffic center. You ride through the center and as you leave the city, you climb a few hills before reaching Las Quintanillas.

Las Quintanillas is a small beautiful village, about 25 km west of Burgos.
