ÉGLISE SAINT-DIDIER

Discover the Saint-Didier church located in the village of Clermont-en-Argonne, between Sainte-Ménehould and Verdun. During this free visit, you will be able to admire the stained glass windows made in 1936 by Jean-Jacques Gruber, master glass artist and art historian; they evoke the life of the Lord and the religious history of the city. Stop also in front of the chapel of the Dead founded by Claude de la Vallée as a burial place for his family. Continue your visit by going to the Saint-Roch chapel where you can admire the sepulchre, a set of 6 statues of which the Holy Woman with a Cap is attributed to Ligier Richier. A booklet presenting the church is available at the entrance; it can also be purchased at the Pays d'Argonne tourist office in Clermont-en-Argonne. In front of each work of art, you will find a brief history intended for a free visit.

The church of Saint-Didier is open from June 15 to September 15 every day from 10 am to 5:30 pm. To visit it outside of this period, it is necessary to go to the Pays d'Argonne tourist office located on the village square in Clermont en Argonne, opposite the town hall. You will be able to pick up the keys in exchange for an identity card.
