EGLISE SAINT-VINCENT DE CANILHAC

The parish church is reached by crossing the enclosed cemetery that surrounds it, then passing under the porch that precedes the entrance
It is a church built in limestone and red sandstone for the corners. This sandstone, with its particular colour, is characteristic of the Banassac area
The building is built in a very marked Romanesque style: the central nave and the side aisles are vaulted in full barrel, the pillars are massive and the bays narrow. The double arches of the central nave stand out because they are made of red sandstone
The oldest part is mainly made up of the choir and the apse to the south. The aisles were added at an unknown date
The interest of the church also lies in the fact that it has kept its stone paving

In the north chapel, a niche houses a monolithic statue of Saint Vincent.
