The Mallumsche Molen is a watermill in the neighbourhood of Mallem in the Dutch municipality of Berkelland, within walking distance of the village of Eibergen. The earliest mention of this watermill dates back to 1424. The mill was part of the Hof te Mallem, a fief of the Lord of Borculo. The mill was a forced or ban mill, which means that the farmers from the area were obliged to have their grain ground there. This assured the lord of income. Several families have lived in the fief and therefore also managed the mill. After the Havezate Mallum was demolished around 1750, the Muldershuis, the adjacent small farm of the miller (Low Saxon: mulder), was provided with a luxurious transverse house. In this way, the Lord of Mallum was still able to stay in Mallum under comfortable conditions. At that time, the Hof was no longer permanently inhabited, but used for hunting and transit. The Muldershuis was also a stopping place with a skipper's café for the skippers of Berkelzompen, who had to wait for their ships to be shipped. In 1895 the mill complex came into the possession of the Berkel Water Board.
