The Hague Chinatown is the Chinese neighborhood of The Hague. The neighborhood is located just behind the large electronics store Media Markt and the department store De Bijenkorf when standing on the Grote Marktstraat. The area has many Chinese shops and restaurants.
At the end of 2008, two Chinese gates were to be built in Wagenstraat; this project was postponed, and they were realized at the end of 2009. The gates are made from original Chinese construction materials. The hard stone columns are adorned with Chinese engraving art, and the painted roof is a wooden construction made of more than a thousand parts. Chinese proverbs are also engraved in a few curbstones.
