This 41 km bike ride shows you the most enjoyable spots in and around Riemst. You first notice that this is the region of marl when you cycle past the Albert Canal. Here, the marl cliffs tower high above you. In Kanne and Zichen-Zussen-Bolder, it is even possible to visit the marl caves. Scattered along the route, challenging climbs await you, with the Slingerberg in Kanne being the most beautiful leg burner of them all. At the Water Castle in Millen, you get a stunning example of how the medieval nobility built with marlstone. And you can taste for yourself that this calcium-rich soil produces excellent wines at the Genoels-Elderen wine castle or the Vlijtingen wine domain.
