Club ride: Lake of the Eau d'Heure 350km

Departure: Black & White 7 AM

Today we are going to take a beautiful ride for the adventurers among us, a challenging 350 km! With 20 Vespas we depart from Tessenderlo, without rain suits, as most weather forecasts only indicate a local shower.

The first 35 km took us over familiar ground, with smooth roads to quickly cover some distance. Unfortunately, Jef had a minor defect with his Vespa after these kilometers: his windscreen had come loose, prompting a brief stop to reattach it properly. With dark clouds in sight, we decided to put on our rain suits. Here and there, some rumbling could be heard from a few Vespa riders, as not a drop had fallen yet. However, that did not last long, as just under 2 km later we were already dealing with light rain. Unfortunately, we spent most of the ride in the rain. But as the saying goes, real Vespa riders ride through rain and wind and continue to enjoy the surroundings, the atmosphere, and their beloved Vespas.

The route took us past beautiful locations and breathtaking views. The roads were nice at times, but as well known, the roads in Wallonia are not always in the best condition. With the rain added, it was sometimes extra cautious to ride.

Thanks to the road captains and ride leader Werner, we were safely guided through everywhere. Despite the rain, we were lucky, as every time we stopped, we stayed dry. The rainy atmosphere made the stops cozy and smiling faces were certainly present.

A successful ride without accidents, having seen and experienced a lot, so it doesn't need to be more than that to make it a nice day.
