Sternenberg is a former municipality in the district of Pfäffikon in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Bauma and Sternenberg merged to Bauma on 1 January 2015.
Before the merger, Sternenberg had a total area of 8.7 km2 . Of this area, 37.9% is used for agricultural purposes, while 58% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 3.8% is settled and the remainder is non-productive . In 1996 housing and buildings made up 2.3% of the total area, while transportation infrastructure made up the rest . Of the total unproductive area, water made up 0% of the area. As of 2007 0.9% of the total municipal area was undergoing some type of construction.
