Lalendorf

Lalendorf is a municipality in the south of the Rostock district. It is located in the geographical center of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The municipality is administered by the Krakow am See office, located in the town of the same name.
Located between the towns of Güstrow, Teterow, Laage, and Krakow am See, Lalendorf lies in the forested and lake-rich region of the Mecklenburg Lake District and at the western foothills of the Mecklenburg Switzerland. This elongated terminal moraine reaches 106 meters above sea level at Tabaksberg near the district of Carlsdorf. The municipality area at the border with the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district forms the watershed between the rivers Warnow and Peene. In addition to Warinsee, Radener See, and Ziest, several smaller lakes are located within the municipality area. The small river Lößnitz drains most of the area via Nebel into the Warnow. Lalendorf has a share in the Mecklenburgische Schweiz and Kummerower See nature park in the south. Lalendorf, with 26 districts over nearly 140 square kilometers, is the largest municipality in the Krakow am See office.
