Evangelical Reformed Church Langenholzhausen

The Evangelical Reformed Church is a listed church building in Krämerstraße in Langenholzhausen, a district of Kalletal in the district of Lippe .
The church was originally dedicated to St. Helena, it was first mentioned in a document in 1245. The predecessor church, an unvaulted building, probably dates from the 12th century. It was extended in the 14th century by an eastern nave bay and the choir. The two west bays were vaulted in the late Gothic style. Today's three-bay, vaulted hall closes with a 5/8 choir. A buttress on the north side is inscribed 1522. The building was extensively renovated in 1953/54 and from 1972 to 1975. The church is a quarry stone building with buttresses, the east side is richer with two- and three-track tracery windows. The nave is accessible through a pointed arch portal, the windows have been changed to basket arches. At the tower portal, a Romanesque thympanum with a Greek cross was reused. The choir and the adjacent bay are vaulted with pear ribs and apex ridges over slender circular services. The keystones are decorated with the Lippe rose and a head of Christ. In the two west bays, more strongly busted ribbed vaults rest on polygonal wall pillars; the tower room is ridge-vaulted. The sacrament niche shows a star in the gable field. Remains of wall paintings from the third quarter of the 15th century depicting Saints George, Lawrence and Elisabeth have been preserved. The tendril paintings in the choir vault were supplemented.
