The Wambachsee is one of the six lakes of the Six Lakes District in Wedau. It is the only lake that is not directly connected to the other lakes. It is connected to Lake Masuria by an underground canal adjacent to the canoeing club.
The Wambachsee is the only lake in the Six Lakes District where diving is permitted. The lake is also a training facility of the Association of German Sport Divers. A diving entrance for recreational divers, which is intended to make it easier to get started, is located on the eastern shore of the lake.
