Bohsdorf

The village is located on the northwestern slope of the Muskau Fold and lies 12 km northeast of Spremberg and about 4 km west of Döbern. The district borders to the north with the district of Mattendorf, to the east with the districts of Klein Kölzig, Groß Kölzig, and Friedrichshain, to the south with Reuthen and Klein Loitz, and to the west with Hornow. The place is easily accessible via state road 48 from Spremberg or Cottbus. To the southeast, the L 482 continues to Döbern.

On the district lies Felixsee, which gives its name to the municipality of Felixsee, a residual pit of the brown coal mine Felix. Additional water-filled residual pits from brown coal mining are located in the northern part of the district. The only noteworthy stream is the Bohsdorf-Vorwerk border ditch, which forms the northern boundary of the district. Historically, a small stream is mentioned that flowed westward from the heights of the Muskau Fold south of Bohsdorf-Vorwerk or between Bohsdorf-Vorwerk and Hornow-Vorwerk before the establishment of the Felix mine and powered two water mills in the district of Bohsdorf in the first half of the 19th century.
