The House of Bissendorf is a former fortified aristocratic residence north of the church of Bissendorf in the district of Osnabrück in Lower Saxony.
The House of Bissendorf has been mentioned since the middle of the 13th century as a fief of the Diocese of Osnabrück and was the ancestral seat of the Lords of Bissendorf, who have appeared in the sources since 1182. With the death of Johann von Bissendorf around 1570, the property was split up. One part went to Friedrich von Bar zu Rothenburg, the other part with the manor house was divided among Johann's daughters. Subsequently, at the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century, the families of Knehem, Bar, Westrup and Langen owned parts of the property. The complicated ownership history finally ended at the beginning of the 1970s, when the manor house was purchased by the municipality of Bissendorf†
