Brake Castle
Brake Castle is a significant architectural monument, whose construction history dates back from the 12th to the 19th century. Brake Castle was expanded from 1584 as the residence of the Counts of Lippe in the Renaissance style. It is surrounded by a moat and stands on the foundations of one of the largest medieval castles in northern Germany. The distinctive tower makes it a widely visible landmark of the old Hanseatic city of Lemgo. The buildings in the immediate vicinity of the castle still convey an impressive image of an early modern residence, including the domain, three historic mills, and a washhouse.

Weser Renaissance Museum
The current permanent exhibition at Brake Castle, supplemented year by year with special exhibitions, aims to explain the various aspects of art and culture between the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War in northern and western Germany with more than 600 exhibits. It provides a broad overview of Renaissance culture, especially in the Weser area, on approximately 2,000 square meters.

Pottkuhle
The Pottkuhle in the Dörentrup landscape park is just under three hectares and is a lake. The former clay pit is embedded in trees and is a beautiful recreational area. The water has a rich fish population and is up to nine meters deep. From tench to carp up to 20 kg, eel, pike, zander to catfish, many species can be found.

Here you get a view of the impressive landfill cover made of photovoltaics. Along with the Helsiek landfill near Detmold, it is unique in Germany and produces a lot of electricity.
