The green route

Wittenberge, once an important industrial location, is now a green city with around 30 hectares of public green space, numerous allotment gardens and around 100 hectares of urban forest. Around 7,000 young and old trees are being taken care of by the city. Including various linden trees, plane trees, maple species and oaks. The urban squares show individual green designs and special tree and plant species. A piece of jewelry is the place of freedom with
rare shrubs and trees. Take a look at the redesigned Clara Zetkin Park, with its new route
designed as a heart. There are leisure activities here for all ages. Discover 24 imposing old ginkgo trees at Heinrich-Heine-Platz. The path also leads to the old town, the Wilhelminian style district and the Elbe.
