Ralbitz-Rosenthal - Tour 1

A pleasant half-day tour through long pine forests and easily accessible country lanes in the middle of the Sorbian settlement area.
The bilingual municipality of Ralbitz-Rosenthal is located in the heart of Sorbian-speaking Lusatia. Many Sorbian traditions and customs are still lovingly preserved in the villages.
Rosenthal is home to a Marian pilgrimage site, which was looked after by Cistercians until 2007. Several pilgrimages take place on the pilgrimage meadow every year, including that of the diocese of Dresden-Meißen. The Rosenthal pilgrimage site is one of the five pilgrimage sites that have been part of the "Central European Pilgrimage Sites" association since 2000.
Long coniferous and mixed forests, well-surfaced paths and cozy resting places at the many ponds in the region make the lowland hikes around the village a relaxing experience.
