Arrival / Departure: Train: from Berlin with the RE3 (Schwedt) to Britz, from there with the RB63 to Joachimsthal (approx. 100 minutes). Car: from Berlin via the A11 to Joachimstahl (approx. 60 minutes). Directions: The starting point is the Schorfheide-Info. Along Templiner Straße, after the level crossing into Glambecker Straße and after approx. 1.5 km turn right into the narrow asphalt road to Leistenhaus. Following the road, there is a rustic rest area at the edge of the forest and shortly after that the Leistenhaus restaurant. The tour continues into the forest and the path now leads through the field landscape. The tour turns right onto the path running parallel to the highway towards Althüttendorf until reaching the nature observation point with a viewing platform, telescope, and rest area offering a magnificent view over Grimnitzsee with its animal and plant life. Then, turn right onto the meadow path towards Joachimsthal (straight ahead is a detour to the Wanderkirche and village square with the 3 Fates). The meadow path lives up to its name after the last houses and leads through meadows, past the sports field and the Waldschänke. Walking through mixed forest area along the lake towards the holiday village at Grimnitzsee with a bathing beach and beach bar. Further along the path, on the right-hand side, you will find the ruins of Grimnitz Castle. Following Grimnitzer Straße, passing the Dorfkrug Alt Grimnitz, continue until reaching the junction with Töpferstraße, then turn right and you will reach the starting point again. The circular hiking trail (green dot) deviates to the north of the railway line.
