Sculpture walk in Frechen

Frechen's streets and squares not only contain a number of remarkable buildings, but also numerous artistic sculptures that turn the public space into an experience area. Many of the commissioned artists have lived in Frechen for a long time.

The Kunstverein Frechen has - following the example of the "Keramikweg" set up by Keramion - combined a series of these sculptures, which can be reached in a walk from the city center, into a "Sculpture Trail." Many of them are passed by day after day as if they were just landmarks. They are seen but not really noticed. Others, like the "Klüttenbrunnen," invite you to linger, they are a meeting point for passersby and part of our everyday life. It's worth taking a closer look at these rich treasures of artistic design.

Remarkable sculptures from the 20th century were selected, representing various artistic styles, from realistic figures to abstract forms. Some tell and comment on the everyday life of this city, others remind and warn, while still others engage in a dialogue with a building next to which they stand or puzzle passersby.
