Saint Anne

The hamlet, with about 230 inhabitants, is located 265 meters above sea level; detached from the municipal center, it is situated about 2 km south of the municipal center. Sant'Anna lies in the valley bottom of the Val Corcera, along the final stretch of the State Road 229 of Lake Orta, called Stradone and named via Sant'Anna; the hamlet is named so because of a small chapel dedicated to the saint, which was located on the Stradone, later demolished for the expansion works of SS229. The boundaries are generally very irregular, although it is possible to identify those with adjacent areas: Sant'Anna borders to the north with the hamlet of Gabbio, to the west with the hamlet of Cassinone, to the south with the district of Lüchinasc, via the San Martino stream, and to the east with the hamlet of Granerolo in Gravellona Toce, via the Strona stream. The town is quite young, as it was established at the end of World War II: indeed, the oldest houses are few and still bear witness to typical Cusian architecture; the other houses are all of recent construction due to the former presence of the Tre Cane factory, now transformed into a FIAT dealership.
