Last update: January 20, 2018: the village of Elmpt is avoided as much as possible.

The route leads from Heusden through Ospel, Leveroy, Baexem, and Beegden to the dam over the Maas at Linne. Subsequently, it goes to Sint-Odiliënberg, known for its basilica. Then the route goes along a path partially closed to motor traffic through the valley of the River Roer. Through Herkenbosch, one then reaches the De Meinweg National Park. This path is very quiet (the car is just a guest there) and has some inclines due to the terraces that have been washed into the landscape over time. At the district of Meinweg, the border to Germany is crossed. Via agricultural paths (roads closed to traffic except for agricultural traffic), the route leads to Elmpt. Then the old connecting path Elmpt - Roermond is followed. This path is now quiet, as the adjacent highway makes its presence felt. Upon arriving in the Netherlands, the route leads over quiet roads past Boukoul, Swalmen, and Asselt towards Rijkel. There, the Maas is crossed via the bicycle ferry (Caution: unpaved path over a length of 300 meters). The route ends again in Heusden via Neer and Meijel.

Caution: The bicycle ferry operates daily only from May to September. From Easter to the end of April and in October, the bicycle ferry operates only on weekends.
