Through Neerkant, Evertsoord, it goes around Sevenum towards Lottum. The Maas is crossed by the Lottum - Lomm ferry. Afterwards, the NP Maasduinen is crossed through the hamlet of Hanik and the nature reserve Straelensbroek. Directly east of Arcen, the Netherlands is left behind.

Through Walbeck, it goes along meadows, fields, forests, and farms towards Sonsbeck, avoiding main roads as much as possible. Near Sonsbeck, there is a ridge (Sonsbecker Schweiz), from where the climbs of Dursberg, Tüschenwald, and Uedemer Hochwald follow.

You then travel through the small town of Marienbaum towards the Rhine, which is crossed by a ferry to the old fortress town of Rees. Afterwards, you travel for some time along dikes along the Rhine to the village of Bislich. Along the Diersforter Waldsee and through the Diersforter Wald, you go around Wesel. In the Diesforter Wald, the route leads half a kilometer over a gravel path.

After crossing the beautiful village of Krudenburg with a historic village core (and cobbled streets), the Lippe River is crossed. You head directly towards Schloss Gartrop. Finally, you cross the Wesel-Datteln Canal and travel over the nature reserve Gartroper Mühlenbach to your final destination Gahlen.
