Located in the Fagne de l'Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse, northeast of the village of Matagne-la-Grande, the site includes a set of hay meadows and a network of hedges whose significant landscape and biological value is threatened by the ongoing agricultural intensification in this remarkable bocage plain for several years. Among the most interesting plant communities are the Molinion meadows with typical species such as succisa (Succisa pratensis), meadow silaus (Silaum silaus), and autumn crocus (Colchicum autumnale), etc. It should also be noted the existence, along the meadow plots, of refuge strips marked by bushes and shrubs which are of particular importance for herpetological fauna (lizards and snakes).
